Hello,

this couple of 5-6 mm flies rested on the wall of our wintergarden yesterday (northwest Germany). There were also some single females. Lasiomma anthomyinum/seminitidum?

Hello John,

No. I wait for it every day (there is a Salix caprea tree in the garden directly next to the wall), but the catkins did not really open, yet. It had been abnormally cold here in the last weeks. But maybe some catkins are flowering higher in the tree?
Best regards,
Jürgen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
