Usually flies that look like this turn out to be Hydrophoria lancifer (Anthomyiidae)

Thanks Tony,
I have photographed others with similar morphology and the brown wings but with grey body and not such dark legs and am wondering if they might also be Anthomyiidae and possibly Hydrophoria lancifer .

This fly is indeed H. lancifer, as Tony already said.
The other fly on your others thread is not H. lancifer and I can't say wich genera or species it could belong to, because the needed characteristics are not visible or are to blur.

Thank You Johanna.
Unfortunately I don't have better images the other fly. Those were screenshots from 2 videos taken on a very windy day.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
