I found this fly today in a small wooded area near the river Linge near Leerdam, Netherlands. It was appr. 5 mm long. I think it could be Hydrotaea (Muscidae), is that correct? And is it possible to tell which species it is from these photographs? Thanks in advance for any help. Oh yes, the only Fannia with elongated mouth edge and club-shaped abdomen ! I had noticed these features in my little notebook (words from Kahis) but I didn't remember. I add your chaetotaxy remarks.
