Hello, I found this fly inside an insect box today. The fly would not have got in from the outside, so it must have hatched somewhere inside. There was just some soil in the box. Size was less than one centimetre, maybe 7-8 cm? Is it possible to identify the species? Greetings, Volker

Hello Volker, based on your nice photos I think it's a female of the Exorista rustica group. EDIT: No it isn't: 4 dc post! So I think it is the female E. larvarum. Edited by eklans on 10-11-2023 16:20 Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |
