Another Tachinidae, this one was seen September 3 2013 in Aalborg, North Jutland, Denmark. About 10 mm long. Sitting on Tanacetum vulgare.

Best regards

Thanks Theo

In Denmark there are only 2 Eumea species: mitis and linearicornis. Is it possible to tell the difference between the two?

The differences are very subtle so it is unlikely that you will get better than Theo's' ID Wink

Right.

My gut feeling is mitis, but I cannot prove that (simply based on the colouration).

OK. Thanks, both of you. Smile
I'll give it one last try with some more pictures, and if that doesn't help, I'll have to settle for Eumea sp., right?

First a close-up from the first photo in the thread. I think the facial ridge looks to be straight.

A view from straight above, to better show the back of the fly and the wings.
