Hello! Can this female from yesterday (northwest Germany) be Eristalis lineata? It was larger than E. arbustorum or interrupta (also flying yesterday), more in the E. tenax "league" (not quite as big as tenax itself). Nope, not arbustorum but indeed a female Eristalis lineata! It has a vague blackish spot in the wing and the yellow marks on the abdomen are not shiny. In the wild it generally has a more 'orange' appearance! Greetings Greetings, Gerard Pennards |
