I would say:

1. Asilidae?
2. Tachinidae (Tachina fera? - Chris or Theo will confirm)
3. Syrphidae Eristalis arbustorum
4. Empis tesselata male
5. Empis tesselata female
6. Syrphidae Tropidia scita

First of all. please always add data on where (and when) the photos were taken. I will assume there are from Austria.

#1 Dioctria [atricapillus] (Asilidae)
#2 Tachina sp. (Tachinidae)
#3 Eristalis [rupium-complex] (Syrphidae)
#4-5: Empis sp., male and female (Empididae)
#6 Tropidia scita

And, please, post apparently unrelated images in separate threads (as mentioned in the Forum - Code of Conduct which you have agreed to Pfft)).

The Tachina, it's either fera or magnicornis

(this is not much help, I know)

N.3 is very probably Eristalis lineata (=horticola) male.

Stephane.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
