Hi

this pics are from 10.07.2009, old pics. But could it be, that this is Eristalis alpina?

Switzerland, about 1460 msm, in blooming meadow, Tannenboden-Flumserberg

Thanks, kind regards, Brigitte

Hi Brigitteu,

I'm sorry ... this is not E. Alpina ! It could be a dark form of female E. arbustorum or E. interrupta. I need a picture of the face to give you the correct ID. Wink

Hi Pierre-Yves

it's a pitty, but the day for alpina will come :-)

No pic from face. 2009 was the first intensiv year my insect-photos. I didn't made turn-round-the-specimen pics in 2009 Frown
So it will stay Eristalis sp.

Thank you! Kind regards, Brigitte (only Brigitte, u is from family name)

I would say the very minimal stigma points in the direction of Eristalis nemorum .
Greetings,

Jan

I agree with Jan for the same reasons (E. nemorum is a synonym of E. interrupta, Fauna Europeae only knows E. interrupta) Wink

Don't despair Brigitte Smile You will find E. alpina !!
