Hi,
This fly sat on a house wall in the Thuringian mountains some days ago. I suppose it is a Heleomyzid because of the spiny wing edge. Here I am at my wits' end - help is appreciated!
Regards, Sundew

Here (http://www.dipter...d_id=75995) we have a rather similar one - maybe Eccoptomera pallescens as well? They seem to be active now...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
