Can genus be told from these photos? Notiphila perhaps? Posting for Tom Murray Massachusetts, USA November 6, 2011 4mm, found on the snow in a damp field.

Notiphila (Dichaeta) caudata - some consider Dichaeta a full genus, some consider it a subgenus of Notiphila. (As far as I can see it's a female, lacking the characteristic abdominal spines of the male.)
