Hi, this couple was seen on May 20, 2012, 4 p.m. in our garden in Hannover, Germany. Could it be Phorbia moliniaris? They were mating on a leaf of Mahonia aquifolium. Thank you for answers! Hans Haleun attached the following image: [120.05Kb] Edited by Haleun on 20-01-2014 19:57 |

Not Phorbia moliniaris, as the male of that species has the eyes almost touching on frons. I am somewhat doubtful if it is an anthomyiid. The antennae look more like Coenosiinae? No bristles in focus to guide us I am afraid. |
