Dear Lennart, You are right that Cheilosia is very problematic genus in identification. In the end of summer and during autumn in Central Europe only few Cheilosia species have flight period. We can observe bare eyes species of pagana group (longula, scutellata, soror, pagana) and C. vernalis.
