Looks like a male Cistogaster globosa. |

Dark triangles nearly always = Gymnosoma nitens. As you might observe, it is a male (narrow vertex without black), yet the thora lacks dusting. All other males have this dusting anterior to the suture. G. Interesting - I never saw a Gymnosoma holding the wings in that way (plane turned nearly upright), which is typical for Cistogaster... Maik's female here (https://www.dipte...d_id=95014) has a different posture. But I admit that the triangles are very regular, and the C. globosa male should have golden pruinosity on the fore half of the thorax. So this Gymnosoma nitens is intermediate indeed! (What would we do without Theo...) |
