Hi, This fly from yesterday evening puzzles me. I often took a red-eyed tesselate Sarcophagid for a Tachinid, but in this case I really tend to Tachinidae, because: - arista is not plumose; - no small parafacial setulae; - thorax has four vittae; - wing vein M1+2 has no sharp bend and only a tiny appendix; - eyes seem to be short-haired... So what can it be? Any help is welcome! (Location is southwestern Germany, 20 km west of Stuttgart.) So a Tachinid indeed, very good. Thank you, Theo! |
