I found this female Anthomyiidae in the East of France. Is it possible to identify it ? Maybe Pegoplata sp. ?

There are no special characteristics visible, so I am very sorry, but it also could be a Delia, Botanophila, Pegomya or other genera....
That is the problem with female Anthomyiidae, ….they can look all the same on photos and even under the microscope it can be a crime.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
