I think you have something spectacular for Belgium: Strongylophthalmyia ustulata. I think unrecorded so far, new family for Belgium.

Hello Eric Steckx, That is very spectacular! It is indeed a Strongylophthalmyia ustulata. The thirds femur is entirely orange. Last year the species was first observed for the Netherlands. Currently there is a paper in press that reports the family new for the Netherlands. Would you be interested to co-author a paper reporting this family new for Belgium on account of your photo?
