* size - 6 mm (medium fly)
* habitat - openland

Conophorus, looks to me very like C. virescens (Fab.) but would have to have a specimen to be sure.

even if the available keys were reliable, which they are not, it would be too optomistic to confirm a species name of a Conophorus from a photo. even with a specimen i have had difficulty, ideally you need a series with both sexes in good condition. Sorry but if you want me to be more definitive send specimens to me.
