male of Metopia roserii By Pape 1996 as Metopia argentata based on - to my knowledge - hitherto unverifyed assumptions. Liekele |

Does this mean that argentata (sensu Pape) is roserii, or generarlly argentata is roserii?

argentata sensu Pape, 1996 is roserii different autors have different interpretation Pape 1996 provisionally assigns argentata as senior synonym of roserii because he has seen a specimen of roserii from Brem labeled "argentata" and Macquart assigned argentata to a specimen of Brem. Some autors have a different opinion (as explained by Pape himself). quite complicated issue and usually i prefer to follow Pape, 1996 but on this one i think Pape is jumping to conclusions too quick instead off maintaining stability of nomenclature.
