Can anyone suggest a family for this fly? It seems like it should be related to the Bombylidae or Tabanidae but I am not sure. Location: Mtn. de Kaw, French Guiana. Date: November 2008 Coll: Jean A. Yes Tabanidae, yes Pangoniinae, many species and genera in the neotropics. Hairy eyes suggest tribe Scionini Theo |

This one is Scionini- genus Fidena subgenus Fidena. This is a diverse genus I can't ID this to species right now. This has an open M3 cell whereas it is closed in Scione |
