Hi, Often I saw this nice yellow fly, but only today it allowed for some pics. Unfortunately there is some image noise resulting from chosen ISO 200. However, I suppose my fly is an Acidia cognata. Do you agree? Regards, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: [144.89Kb] |

Why "cf." - are there several similar species? |

because in scutellum I see two spots. And in gallery the male has no spots in scutellum. I don't know if it is a variation of the same species, or another species in Acidia. Hence the cf. |

The male hasn't, because the two spots are below the scutellum and can't be seen in this pic . Compare with http://www.syrphi...2002a.html and the following photos! |
