Hello, dear experts, on July 2 these pictures were taken in a rural, sandy area with a barley field, a small creek, a row of poplar, and pasture, outside the village of Bantikow in Brandenburg, Germany. The fly is about 8 mm long. Is an identification possible? With hopeful thanks! Hans Haleun attached the following image: [183.48Kb] Edited by Haleun on 16-11-2016 14:01 |

Fore tarsus looks with 4-5 segments modified, black. If so, the male keys to Sciapus albifrons (Meigen). See Grichanov I.Ya., Negrobov O.P. 2014. Palaearctic species of the genus Sciapus Zeller.
