Using ONLY m and r4+5 as distinctive characters, for me it can be M. apicatus (veins are parallel, and don't converge)

Myopites is a genus difficult for identification, needing a revision and having no reliable keys by far.
It is hardly M. stylatus/limbardae (which is very common along Southern Balkan shores), which has entirely dirty-yellow mesonotum (I need a better picture), though it has a "washed" wing pattern. The other possible ID could be M. apicatus or M. inulaedyssentericae, both present in this region, but also poorly known.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
