Bred from rotting Honey Fungus (Armillaria) collected from base of young tree in park, Ipswich, Suffolk on 29-Sept-2014. Adult found on 21-Oct-2014. I thought female Drosophila picta or Hirtodrosophila cameraria. The specimen is quite dehydrated so I am posting these photos before trying to wet it (as that usually ruins my flies!). Is it possible to determine the sex and species from these photos, please? Best wishes, Martin Martin Cooper attached the following image: [146.57Kb] Edited by Martin Cooper on 22-10-2014 08:49 |

OK. Thanks Paul. I think I should give these little flies a day or two to grow up before killing them. Regards, Martin |
