Found this one doing what scuttle flies do, scuttling around on my kitchen window. A couple of minutes in the freezer slowed it down for a bit...Correct ID & a male? Size...just under 4mm. Roger Thomason attached the following image: [162.06Kb] Edited by Roger Thomason on 29-08-2012 16:41 |

But the ID is correct, which is probably more amazing than the background.

Hmm..A couple of wise guys huh? Maybe the last photo inspired your somewhat tongue-in-cheek replies Actually I had seen this type before and had it ID'd by Tony Irwin and Brian Brown...so in card playing terms..I was working with a rigged deck . Also have a couple of pics from that thread in the Gallery. http://www.dipter...d_id=24492 As for the background..I had the fly in the freezer for about 4 minutes and didn't really expect it to do an impersonation of Lazarus whan I set it on graph paper [2mm squares] to get an idea of size without having to actually measure it. Regards Roger..the not so "amazing" ... Roger Thomason attached the following image: [113.6Kb] Edited by Roger Thomason on 29-08-2012 23:22 |
