By accident a 2nd fly got a chance to lay her eggs on some pork I used to encourage a captive Phorid to do the same (which succeeded by the way  )Edit: I now think it is Muscidae

A very fresh pupa, it was a larva a couple hours ago, and ventral view.

Intesive pigmentation of posterior spiracles and also crescent-shaped slits are characteristic for Muscina genus. But identification to the species basing on larval morphology is very difficult and needs revision. Currently only possibility is breeding to the adult stage. |
