This larva was collected near Smolensk in pond. It seems to be Dixa ??nebulosa?

If there are crowns of feathered setae on the dorsal side of some abdominal segments than it is Dixa. Besides this in Dixa the caudal appendage is usually black, while in Dixella it is more yellowish/brown and the crowns of setae are lacking. To me it looks like Dixa, but your specimen is unidentifyable to species level using this photograph. |

Many thanks for both comments. I'll look at the larvae once more tomorrow in the laboratory. I would like to learn to make photos in such a way that the genus could be identifyable at least. |
