Hi, these were in great numbers under dead wood. They are still alive in a box with some wood material. 10 mm.

Posterior spiracles seem to be with 3 openings - then it is Dilophus febrilis Loew. |

Bibio has two spiracular openings and long transversely arranged body processes while Dilophus has three openings and shorter processes. Bibionidae larvae are unique in having a holopneustic respiratory system having 10 lateral pairs of stigmatal openings (including the larger opening seen on your photograph). |
