I found this beautiful tephritid fly in 3rd August 2008 and discussed with Valery Korneyev the ID. We launched a small note in Vestniik Zoologii. Here the link that provides the reference: http://www.v-zool.../e42-5.htm This fly is new for Portugal and that fact was cited in the note referenced in the link above. I found this fly under a beech (Fagus sylvatica) leaf (40º 33' 8,8344" N; 7º 56' 18,7800"W). Those string vibrissae are awesome. And the markings in the wings as well.
