Hi,
this Chaoborus was observed on october 5th at home (north of Yonne department, Burgondy, France). Is it possible to define the species ? C. crystalinus was already observed at the same place but in march, and with a different color (dark). All my thanks for your expertise.

The species of subgenus Chaoborus are hard to distinguish.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
