Hi,
the 3rd fly today (Sept. 5th 2023) : is this Tolmerus, may be T. cingulatus ? Region Celle, Lower Saxony, Germany
For me it seems feeding a small spider, saw this not before at home.
If you can answer may request, I would be very happy.
Thanks, Norbert

Hello,

try the Asilidae subforum (although I doubt, that a species ID will be possible after this photo of a female).
Best regards,
Jürgen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
