Hi,

last week (5 January) i was up in the mountain in Retezat National Park.
seen couple of tens of exemplary (more frequent in the forested area at aprox 1000-1400m altitude).

photographed males and females. can be IDed ad species level?

Yes, these are Chionea. For species id check with Wieslaw Krzeminski from Poland.

Hi,

back to this.

about the male i have just received news (from Pjotr Oosterbroek) that this belong to:
Chionea (Sphaeconophilus) botosaneanui (Burghele-Balacesco 1969)
i don't know what i have done with the female so not sure about the name for that one.

i have also anoher species ID-ed, i will come back to photo for gallery with both.
