Hello
isn't this Temnostoma meridionale? It is in my garden at Lake Thun but not on the Swiss List. June and July 2007.

Nope, but it is Temnostoma allright!
Try wether Temnostoma vespiforme is on the Swiss list, because this is that species!

Yes, so it is vespiforme.
But what irritates me is, that I see that the yellow streak at the suture of the thoractic dorsum is interrupted (black).?

Thank you! Maja

Hello Maja,
It's not only the yellow streak on the suture, you also have to look at the yellow spots just before the postalar lobes (left and right of the scutellum).
When these are there (as in this picture) that leaves vespiforme and meridionale. When these yellow spots cover the postalar lobes making them (partly) yellow (as in your pictures), it is T. vespiforme.
In your picture it looks like the yellow streak at the suture of the thoracic dorsum is interrupted, but in meridionale this interruption is quite big, leaving two separate yellow patches along the suture.
In your case part of the yellow seems to be a bit faded on the suture, but it's there!
So that is the reason I'm quite sure this is T. vespiforme! Grin
