Hello!

A fly from our garden today (Ostwestfalen/Germany). It resembles Neria cibaria in the gallery. Could this be correct? Length about 6-8 mm. Thanks in advance!

Can nothing be said about this fly (picture quality too bad?)?
Best regards,
Jürgen

It's within the Calobatinae. Most probably Calobata petronella or Neria cibaria, the blackening on the frons would be more extensive in other large Neria or their 6th sternal processes would be large and sticking out to the side (N. femoralis).
