Hi!
Could someone identify which species is this fly? The pictures is taken yesterday, 12th of April 2013 in Serbia.
I think both specimens belong to the same species, but am not sure.

Is it a Gymnochaeta? (says a person, who knows nothing about Tachinidae)

Yup - Gymnochaeta viridis. Still waiting for my first this year.
Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London.
