Hi, I think it is Physocephala vittata, or, possibly, P. curticornis. P. lacera should have a silverish stripe between the wing base and midleg, which this fly seems to lack. (I am not an expert, though!)

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi,
Thanks a lot. It seems there exist several very similar Physocephala sp.

Lacera/pusilla also have the front of the wing completely black. In this specimen there is a whitish cell visible.
Silverish stripe not visible though, due to the wrong angle of the picture taken.
My guess would be P. vittata.

It is a very typical P. vitiate. look at the wing coloration with the isolated spot at the wing tip and the obviously light anterior wing margin.

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
