Another fly that I thought might have been Anthomyia, but seems similar in many respects to its predecessor which turned out to be a probable Limnoph[or]a. Chongwe District, Lusaka, Zambia 31 October 2011 Swimming Pool within ornamental garden. Hi Will! Limnophila is a cranefly - I think you mean Limnophora ![]() You are right that this should be Muscidae. Nice to see all your pictures from Chongwe. I was at Mungwi (near Kasama) for my gap year (in 1966-7 )

Oh dear, I've done it again... the other day, I asked if a Scoliid wasp (probably Micromeriella) was Micromelia - which google informs me is a medical condition. Correcting title. Thanks. |

It is Lispe of Lispe longicollis species group. I can't say more with this image only.
