Hello, I have no idea about its species, a tachinid? from Van East Turkey (about 10mm length). I hope that the apical spots are also characteristic for the species. ID is very much appreciated. Thanks a lot. Muhabbet Cesa attached the following image: [79.95Kb] Edited by Cesa on 23-12-2009 07:13 |

Looks like a Gonia sp. but I have never seen one with apical wing spots - very nice indeed

Thank you Chris. Is it possible an ID more precisely? By the way, I wish to all friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Muhabbet |

It looks very interesting, it would be great if you could share it with Dr. J. Ziegler, Berlin, who is working on the genus Gonia. Theo |

Gonia maculipennis is the only Gonia in Lindner that has spots on the wings. General description and distribution would also fit. Any objections? |

thank you very much Jaakko. I agree with you and also enclosed here the original description of Gonia maculipennis Egger,1862, Verh. zool.-bot. Ges. Wien 12: 783, described the specimens from Hungary, and Asia minor (Turkey). Greetings Muhabbet Cesa attached the following image: [164.61Kb] |
