Can anybody confirm this fly as Gymnochaeta viridis?

I can not confirm, but this would be my guess, too. Wait for Theo to rule out some other similar species.

It's Gymnochaeta alright, either viridis or magna.
The date and size slightly suggest magna, which is a very rare species indeed.
Did you collect it ?
