I think this is Tachina lurida but it looks a bit odd, in particular the black lump on the face and the diagonal orange stripe on the abdomen. Can anyone confirm (or correct) my identification? I think it is a bit teneral - freshly emerged - the heads on fresh flies are often distorted a little. It is definitely T.lurida though - well done - I wish I could find these things Was it in the Reading Uni campus?
