Hello, This diptera had a short break on a wall : first thought about some Hymenoptera Ichneumonidae because of its slender figure. Only when I came nearer I realized it was some diptera. Abdomen was very sharp. I unfortunately didn't have time for a profile shoot : it was already far away... I've been told (thanks Camille Thirion !) it should be some Micropezidae. Is it possible to precise a bit more ? Saint Apollinaire (21), France - 25th July 2004 - body length 13 mm approx Thanks ! Edited by Arthropa on 10-03-2007 00:33 Benoit MARTHA |

Hai Benoit. It is indeed a species of Micropezidae, and by the looks of the coloration of the legs (the white tarsal segments from leg 1 and 3) and the wings (with some darker markings), I would say it is a Rainieria calceata (Fallen, 1820) Greetings, Gerard Pennards |
