Hi,

I have photographed this fly a fortnight ago in a deciduous forest near Paris. I suppose from the general outlook (and also because they are very common in this season) that this is a Mycetophilid fly. Correct? Is it possible to go to the genus? Length about 6-8mm.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers,

FRV

Tricky without any of the wing venation visible but it does not look like Mycetophilinae.

Thank you Paul. So no way of going further than Mycetophilidae!
