Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chironomidae? Yes - Chironomus sp.

Hi,
I found this diptera on the wall of my balcony near Bologna, Italy on May 13, 2020 - is the family correct and is it possible to further identify it. Thanks a lot for your help :)

Yes, family is correct, and it's one of the tribe Chironomini, possibly Chironomus sp. John Carr may be able to say more.

The large frontal tubercles suggest Chironomus.
