Asilidae found on a sandy path in a wasteland among vineyards in september 2018.
Can it be Neomochtherus melanopus ?

Ik seems that there are bristles presen on the ventral side of fore femora, if that is the case this might be Machimus lacinulatus or Neoepitriptus setosulus. A male would be welcome

Thank you very much for your proposal. They are indeed bristles on the ventral side of femur 1. I don't meet the male of this species. Do you think the size (18-20 mm) is possible for Neoepitriptus setosulus ?
best regards,
Michel Mathieu

Ah, was it really that big? Another option is Neoepitriptus inconstans, but a male would be welcome.
