Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae from May - Phyto cingulata (Rhinophoridae)

Doesn’t look like a Tachinidae.
Current impression is a male of Phyto (Rhinophoridae) with narrow vertex, like Ph. similis or cingulata. That would be a spectacular find.
* Check the shape of lower calypter
* Check the “operculum” of the posterior spiracle = breathing opening ( just below base of wing). Do you have one large lid (check on any Tachinidae, or Calliphora) or just a bunch of hairs ( = Rhinophoridae).
