Hello, I'd like to ask for help in identifying this hoverfly. The closest I could get is probably Syrphus sp.?
The picture was taken in my backyard, 15th of September 2020, around Poznan, Northwest Poland.

Hi, I'm quite confident, it's a female S. ribesii. To be absolutely sure, you'd need a lateral shot showing femur 3, which should be completely yellow. Similar, but shorter is S. vitripennis with femur 3 nearly completely black.

Thank you Eric! I checked out more pictures (and what is a femur) and this is what I found. The legs (the femur is a part of the leg, right?) are a little bit more visible up here. It looks completely yellow to me. What do you think?

Hi Bart, the legs consist of:
coxa = hip
femur = thigh
tibia = shin
tarsus = foot
Through the wing we can see enough yellow of the left femur 3 to say it's ribesii.
