Hello,

this 6-7 mm fly visited the light in our garden last night (northwest Germany).

Most ACR are lacking, a clear sign that it is not a Tachindae ( yes, I know, there are exceptions like Fausta but these are hardy ever seen). Moreover, full continuous grey vittae over the thorax are unusual in Tachinidae, to say the least.

Hopes this helps.

This is Phyto melanocephala, hence Rhinophoridae. Wing venation is characteristic.

Many thanks, Theo, also for your explanations! I was tending to that species at last.
