Hello,
the Gymnosoma-species seem to be very variable…
I have no idea with this fly from July 4th 2020 from Leipzig (Saxony/Germany).

Looks like a male Cistogaster globosa.

Dark triangles nearly always = Gymnosoma nitens. As you might observe, it is a male (narrow vertex without black), yet the thora lacks dusting. All other males have this dusting anterior to the suture.
G. Nitens is somewhat intermediate between Gymnosoma and Cistogaster,
Male Cistogaster, however, have a different abdominal pattern, for instance

Interesting - I never saw a Gymnosoma holding the wings in that way (plane turned nearly upright), which is typical for Cistogaster... Maik's female here (https://www.dipte...d_id=95014) has a different posture. But I admit that the triangles are very regular, and the C. globosa male should have golden pruinosity on the fore half of the thorax. So this Gymnosoma nitens is intermediate indeed! (What would we do without Theo...)
