Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Keropplatidae? -> Mycetophilidae, Mycomya, rather large

Slovakia, Banska Bystrica, forested mountain valley, 16 May 2020, up to 10 mm

I found some pictures of the species on the web (also here https://diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=77517&highlight=Symmerus+annulatus&pid=324763), my specimen is slightly darker, especially thorax.

Wing venation does not match Keroplatidae, so no Symmerus. They have no small trapezoid cell that is well visible in your pictures. Mycetophilidae have such wings, e.g. Mycomya, see http://www.kolumb...wing_e.htm. However, I am not an expert for this tricky family, sorry!
