this fly I saw yesterday in the shadow of bushes. Is it possible to determine it.

Any chance to get a better view on the front leg ?
It definitely looks like Bibio venosus male !

Thank you for answer. Unfortunately there is no better picture. So I think
cf Bibio venosus is a good determination.

Well, I think we can be pretty sure. We can just see the short spurs and the hairs on eye are short, whereas they are extremely long in the only other option, B. reticulatus.

So, if you promise you didn’t shave this fly .... we should be fine.
