Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Unknown fly mating

Hi,

I have photographed this pair of flies this morning (stacking of 14 photos) but don't known to which species it belongs?
Length of the front fly about 7-8mm.
Any idea?

where on the planet did you do that (not unessential for an ID)?

Look like Mycetophilidae to me, but I am no expert.

It looks like Exechia (Mycetophilidae).
